: As long as you can prove or provide original documentation you shouldn't have too much of a problem proving the authenticity of whatever you're trying to prove. It does help putting a watermark on a photo or putting "copyright 2001 to blah blah blah".

True...that is the law...but it is the courts who interpert that law and the courts have traditionally required proof to bring a case of civil or statutory action.
